This plot shows annual loggerhead nests counted at core index nesting beaches in Florida during the period 1989-2002. Regression of log-transformed nest numbers shows no trend in annual loggerhead nesting (r=0.10, p=0.73). This is a change from similar analyses in previous years that had indicated an increase in loggerhead nesting.

The annual number of loggerhead nests at the core set of index beaches ranged from 39,091 to 59,918 nests. Nesting on index beachers represents approximately 67% of loggerhead nesting in the state of Florida.
